You’ll find Birkelund camping situated 9 km. from Hagafoss, close by Rv50. A unique place to go!
In spacious and undisturbed surroundings you’ll find
11 (heated) cabins for 2 to 6 persons. The cabins are equipped with all the utensils you need to prepare your own meals.
Birkelund camping can supply 31 caravans and campers with electricity and has 45 camping places for caravans, campers and tents. The showers, bathrooms, hot water and sinks for dishwashing are in a separate (heated) building. For our guests in the cabins and on the camping site we offer a free sauna.
Dogs are welcome on Birkelund camping.
Birkelund camping has many different facilities for the young, adult and older visitors.
For the little ones we have a playground with a sand-pit, swings, slides and a little climbing wall. For the young and adults we have a trampoline, a swimmingpool and a recreation-ground.
On the camping site we have a bålpanne with a table and benches around it. Our guests can use this bålpanne for grilling or to make a fire.
When it is a dry evening Rinie will make a nice fire for our guests in the bålpanne.
Birkelund camping also has a sauna with a cold rainshower and a cold plungebarrel.
You can relax outside during and after you have used the sauna.
On our camping site we have two servicebuildings. Both buildings are heated.
One servicebuilding has, separated for women and men, showers, wash-hand basins and lavatories.
In the other building are lavatories, seperate hot/cold water cubicles, showers and a nursing room.
In this building is a kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with cookingplates, a shoedryer, washing machine and a tumble dryer.
You can do your dishes in this kitchen.
In the kitchen we have a table with benches so you can eat your meal and have a sociable stay.
Birkelund Camping has a kiosk which, in the highseason, is opened from 07:30 -11:00 and 14:00 - 22:00.

Omgeving:
Birkelund camping is an excellent and natural point of departure whether you want to climb, mountain bike,
go on fishing trips or just want to go for relaxing walks in an unspoilt and breathtaking nature.
Many of the guests spend their time fishing in the river where fish are abundant.
The best deep pool is only 500 m from the camping site.
Birkelund camping is situated in an ancient cultural landscape telling you about old agricultural traditions
and mountain dairy farming.
You can still find mountain dairy farming along State highway 50 with large flocks of goats, and farms where you can buy the local brown cheese
made of goat milk and taste the different local traditional dishes made at the mountain dairy farm.
In Hallingdal there are a lot of examples showing how houses where build and decorated in the old days.
In local museums or old private well-preserved farms,
you’ll find old everyday objects decorated in an elaborated style, both painted and carved.
You can enjoy winter sports in Hovet ( 3 km), Hol ( 3 km), Sudndalen (10 km), Geilo (15 km), Ål (25 km)
and Gol (50 km).
You can experience all this and much more if you stay at Birkelund camping.
Dogs are, provided that they are on a lead, welcome on Birkelund camping.

Aankomst:
From Oslo
In Oslo you travel on the E16 as far as Hønefoss. In Hønefoss you go farther on Rv.7 in the direction of Gol, Geilo and Bergen.
You drive as far as Hagafoss and there you go farther on Rv.50 to Hol and Aurland.
If you have driven about 9 km you'll find Birkelund camping at the left side of the road.
From Bergen
You can travel on the Rv.7 to Geilo, Gol and Oslo and drive as far as Hagafoss and go farther on Rv.50 to Hol and Aurland.
If you have driven about 9 km you'll find Birkelund camping at the right side of the road.
You can also travel from Bergen to Aurland on the E16. In Aurland you go farther on Rv.50 to Hol.
After you have passed Hovet it is about 3 km to Birkelund camping.
There are signposts to the camping site along Rv.50.
From Kristiansand / Larvik / Sandefjord (Torp)
From Kristiansand you travel on the E18 to Drammen. You can also travel from Larvik and Sandefjord on the E18 to Drammen.
In Drammen you can go farther on Rv.35 to Hønefoss and then follow Rv.7 to Bergen. For more details from Hønefoss you can look at the description From Oslo.
The second possibility is driving from Drammen tot Kongsberg on E134 and then in Kongsberg you go farther on Rv.40 to Geilo.
In Geilo you follow the description From Bergen.
