In the nature park Hoher Vogelsberg the Gedern lake rests dreamily. On the shores of this famous lake is the leisure and recreation area "Am Gederner See" with the camping park which is open all year round. It offers 650 pitches for permanent and holiday campers on an area of 150000 square meters, a large tent meadow with campfire facilities, eight well-kept sanitary facilities, comfortably furnished mobile homes, a kiosk with snacks and a rich assortment of goods for daily needs.
The varied offer also includes spacious sunbathing lawns, an aquapark, sandy beach, beach chairs for hire, beach volleyball field, fishing meadow, table tennis and miniature golf. An adventure playground with cable car, nest swing and climbing wall provides a lot of variety for the little ones.
Special highlights are the "Gederner Seefest" with live music and traveling spectacle around the Gederner See as well as our "Elvis-Fest" in memory of our famous holiday guest Elvis A. Presley.
The Gedern Lake is the ideal starting point for discovering the Vogelsberg, Europe's largest volcanic massif. Here you can let nature take its effect on you, recharge your batteries and gather new strength on numerous hiking and cycling paths.
But the Vogelsberg is also a dream for motorcyclists. Cruise past extensive brook valleys through gentle curves and idyllic villages, such as on the "Route 276", one of the most popular motorbike routes in Germany.
