Elk Meadows is a three season campground. Our schedule is (weather permitting) May 15 to Nov 15. We close due to snow in the winter.
Anytime we’re open is a great time to visit. We are situated in the trees not far from the base of Mt. Adams. Our premium sites have an unobstructed view of Mt. Adams 11 miles away. Most of our sites offer privacy from your neighbors, except for the group sites which are meant for large groups that want closer community. All of our campers love our park and rave about its beauty and the care we take of it! Check out reviews at http://www.RVPARKREVIEWS.com. Our high season is mid-July until after Labor Day. Most campers make next year’s reservation before they leave the park. If you come in the spring, expect a bit of a chill until Memorial Day. Summer brings Beautiful sunny days and much warmer temperatures with average highs in the high 80’s. Fall brings incredible color, elk – possibly in the park (!), and perhaps a view of new snow on Mt. Adams. If you enjoy biking, hiking, fishing or just experiencing the outdoors, Elk Meadows is the place to camp! Expect beauty, peace, quiet and friendly folks. We are an RV Park, but tent camping is permitted in designated sites, with an RV present, for an extra fee.
There is a lot to see and do nearby. Hiking, Biking, Kayaking & White Water Rafting on nearby White Salmon River, the Ice Caves, Natural Land Bridges, Langfield Falls, the Big Lava Beds, Trout Fishing at many nearby small lakes including Goose Lake, Mosquito, Surprise and Forlorn Lakes, picking huckleberries, and for the experienced picker, mushrooms in late Summer and Fall.
From Portland, Oregon, take I-84 east, take Hood River Exit 64. Turn North and cross the toll bridge. Turn left onto Hwy 14, going 1 mile west to Alt. 141 - Mt Adams Recreation Area. Turn right at this sign, and continue on Hwy 141about 25 miles, bearing left thru Trout Lake to mile marker 25. Follow signs one mile to Elk Meadows RV Park.
