Southern Slovakia is an undervalued and somewhat forgotten part of Slovakia; especially by the Slovaks themselves. That is primarily because Slovaks got used to the natural beauty around them. In the south of Slovakia you will find the unspoiled nature. Endless woodlands are varied by beautiful open fields and sights. Small often partly abandoned settlements, farms, castles and ruins, together with museums and wine tastings make here the nature, history and culture go hand in hand … You’ll also see deer, foxes and raccoons roam freely. A shepherd with his sheep or cows during one of their walks is more the rule than the exception. You can harvest oregano, thyme and mint in the meadows and enjoy fresh milk form the local farm. And because you escaped from the highways, alarm clocks and bustle, and stay in the tranquility of the wilderness, you’ll be much more receptive to peace and ease, that nature can fill you with.
